Goodguy Styles plans on sharing his musical offerings with the masses

Isaac Mokgabudi, professionally known as Goodguy Styles, is a talented DJ, born and bred in Alexandra. He says that he used to spend time with what used to be one of the best duos in the music industry – JazziDisciples. That gave him a glimpse into the entertainment industry and eventually sparked an interest in him wanting to become part of it. Given the career path he chose, Goodguy Styles gets to share his talent with different environments and crowds, which he thoroughly enjoys.
Having only started DJing in March 2021, he has built a name for himself and plans to take his career to greater heights. His career highlight so far is being part of the line-up for the Balcony Mix, a popular mix series hosted by renowned Amapiano hitmakers – Major League DJs. He has also played back to back with the likes of Durban Gogo and Josiah De Disciple, whom he looks up to. His style of playing is a creative infusion of Amapiano with Bacardi and Sgija (private school piano).
‘’Bongani, well known as ‘Murdah’ from Black Motion and Black Coffee, are the two people that inspire me. Their ability to combine good music and great fashion sense is unmatched and something that I am also incorporating into my own brand,” says Goodguy Styles.
The music industry comes with its challenges, but the multifaceted DJ believes that he will become a household name as he is authentic and plans to keep pushing his craft, no matter what. His family is what keeps him going and ‘quitting’ is a word that does not exist in his vocabulary.
“Amapiano is the biggest musical movement right now and I am glad to be part of it; the plan is to leave a good and memorable impression wherever I go. I have always wanted to produce my own music and I had the chance to do that with a song titled ‘Gatara’ on JazziQ’s ‘Black is brown’ project. I plan on releasing more of my own songs so keep an eye out for that,” he concludes.
