In a digital age flooded with fleeting moments and viral sensations, one name is proving he’s here to stay, Stix Makasana. The KwaNomzamo-born rapper, who first caught national attention through a freestyle on TikTok, is now stepping firmly into the South African music scene with the release of his debut single, Hosh Mizuzu.
The Viral Spark
When Stix Makasana uploaded a freestyle over Dee Koala’s Spazz instrumental, he didn’t expect the wave that followed. Over 3 million views later, DJ Cleo, legendary producer and talent scout, came calling.
A Township Voice on a National Stage
Born Siyabonga Matshoba in Humansdorp, Stix grew up as the eldest of four, balancing hardship with hustle. Music was always there, from writing lyrics at 14 to performing in local pubs and talent shows. With no major breaks, he turned to business, starting a T-shirt and upholstery hustle just to keep the dream alive.
Hosh Mizuzu: Storytelling with a Punchline

Now officially signed to Eskhaleni Music under Will of Steel Productions. Hosh Mizuzu is a humorous yet hard-hitting recount of a real burglary, layered with witty lines and township slang. Watch the music video below
