Pyramids FC of Egypt have successfully booked a spot in the CAF champions 2025 final after defeating Orlando Pirates 3-2.
The Buccaneers started the game like a house on fire, scoring the first goal in the 41st minute courtesy of Relehobile Mofokeng, who converted after receiving the ball from a cleverly-taken set piece.
However, it wasn’t long after that when Pyramids FC leveled matters by equalising in the dying minutes of the first half through Mayele.
Experience proved to be a distinguishing factor between the two sides as matters continued in pretty much the same fashion even in the second half. The Sea Robbers clinched another lead in the 52nd minute, but the celebrations were short lived as Pyramids equalised a mere five (5) minutes later.
The final nail in the coffin came in the 84th minute as Mayele registered a brace, scoring a decisive goal that booked a seat in the final for Pyramids.
The Egyptian side will face Mamelodi Sundowns in what looks to be a thrilling cup final as North meets South to determine the African champions. The first leg will be played on the 24th of May, with Sundowns being the away team and the second leg will see Masandawana jetting off to Cairo on the 1st of June.
