Coach Fadlu Davids team in Hot water with CAF ?

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has initiated an investigation into the events surrounding the CAF Confederation Cup final’s second leg between Morocco’s RS Berkane and Tanzania’s Simba SC, held on May 25, 2025, at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar. The match, which concluded with a 1-1 draw, secured RS Berkane’s 3-1 aggregate victory and their third Confederation Cup title.

Leading African Football Journalist Micky Jnr posted on his Social Media “First of all, RS Berkane filed reports to CAF that they have been held at the airport in Zanzibar for about four hours after they arrived. No official from hosts were there to receive them.

Secondly, CAF wasn’t happy with how Simba behaved during the game, with what’s described as “indisciplined actions” from the Simba team and the technical staff. Quite strange here.

Also: there were some chants and boos directed to CAF President and his delegation.

Finally, CAF will also conduct investigation into what happened inside the dressing room with some “guests” who entered into the dressing room of the match officials.

The match commissioner and the referee have presented their reports to CAF this morning.

Expect some sanctions to come from CAF, surely.”

CAF’s investigation aims to ensure that such incidents are thoroughly examined to uphold the standards of the sport. The organization continues to work closely with member associations to promote fair play and respect across all competitions.
