Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane, has been nominated as an assistant coach for the South African national football team Bafana Bafana at the 2025 Cosafa Cup. Letsholonyane, renowned for his dynamic midfield play, represented South Africa at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and enjoyed a successful club career with teams like Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United, and TS Galaxy. Since retiring in 2022, he has transitioned into coaching, obtaining his CAF B coaching license and later advancing to the CAF A license, the second-highest coaching qualification in Africa.
In March 2024, Letsholonyane was appointed as an assistant coach for Amajita, the South African U-20 men’s national team, under head coach Raymond Mdaka. His role involved mentoring young talents and preparing them for upcoming competitions, including the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
