Kaizer Chiefs have officially parted ways with attacking midfielder Sabelo “Bibo” Radebe, marking the first confirmed squad change following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. The club announced the decision on Thursday, May 29, 2025, signaling the end of Radebe’s journey with the Soweto giants.
Radebe, now 25, joined Amakhosi as a teenager and progressed through the junior ranks in the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy before moving up to the reserve team in the 2017/18 season. He earned a spot in the senior team in the 2020/21 season after an impressive performance in the DStv Diski Challenge.
In the 2024/25 season, Radebe was loaned to Richards Bay FC. However, his stint was cut short in April 2025 after making only three appearances totaling 19 minutes, leading to his return to Kaizer Chiefs.
Radebe’s departure is part of Kaizer Chiefs’ broader strategy to reshape their squad under the leadership of coach Nasreddine Nabi. The club aims to build on their recent success, including ending a ten-year trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup.

In an official statement, Kaizer Chiefs expressed gratitude for Radebe’s contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors. The club acknowledged his journey from the youth academy to the senior team and his dedication throughout his tenure.
As Radebe embarks on the next chapter of his career, his departure underscores the competitive nature of professional football and the continuous evolution of team rosters in pursuit of excellence.
