This Saturday, Groove Cartel unlocks a special performance from one of Amapiano’s rising architects, DJY Vino.
Sifiso Bafana Vilakazi, known to the streets and the scene as DJY Vino, is a sonic craftsman with roots deep in Alexandra, one of Gauteng’s most culturally rich townships. His journey started early, crafting beats back in 5th grade at Summerwood Primary School, long before the genre he would help shape even had a name.
Since then, DJY Vino has grown into a name that echoes throughout the Amapiano circuit. A frequent collaborator and student of legends, he’s worked with pioneers such as Kabza De Small, Busta 929, Kopzz Avenue, and Nkulee 501. His talents didn’t go unnoticed, he’s now officially part of the powerhouse label Piano Hub, helmed by Kabza himself.
And the numbers speak for themselves:
4.35 million streams, 209 playlists, 3.02 million playlist reach, 102 chart placements, 344K Shazams, 2.01 million video views
A celebration of the new wave of township-born stars turning local stories into global soundtracks.
Catch DJY Vino exclusively on Groove Cartel, this is culture.
