MFR Souls officially release their highly-anticipated album The Heart of Piano Side B, a project that reaffirms their legendary status as the pioneers of Amapiano.
Known as the “Kings of Piano,” Tumelo “Maero” Nedondwe and Tumelo “Force” Mabe are the architects behind the genre’s global rise, shaping a sound that has travelled from the streets of Katlehong to the biggest stages in the world. With Side B, the duo delivers a fresh yet familiar collection of songs that celebrate Amapiano’s evolution while staying true to the roots that first won them the crown.
The album opens with “Uzom’thola” featuring Rory Diamonds, Chley, and T Man SA, setting the tone for a project packed with star-studded collaborations and soulful piano textures. Fans will be thrilled to hear the lead single “Moja” — a standout collaboration with rising vocalist Maline Aura and the ever-brilliant Bassie. Other highlights include “Intombi” alongside De Mthuda, Sam Deep, Bassie, and Moscow On Keyz, the Kabza De Small-assisted “Sunset”, and the high-energy “Marlboro” with Mr JazziQ.
Spanning 16 tracks, from deep grooves and hypnotic baselines to soaring vocals and innovative remixes, the album captures the heartbeat of a genre that continues to redefine South African music and influence the global stage.
MFR Souls’ journey has always been about more than music; it’s been about culture, community, and creativity. As one of the original forces behind Amapiano’s birth, their consistency and ability to evolve without losing authenticity has kept them at the forefront of the movement.
With Side B, Maero and Force remind us why they’re still the blueprint. This is not just an album — it’s a celebration of how far Amapiano has come, and a glimpse of where it’s headed next.
The Heart of Piano Side B is now available on all major streaming platforms.
