Interestingly, “I Do” wasn’t part of the plan. During a writing camp in Fourways in August 2024, Una Rams found himself stuck, battling creative blocks while working on another song. What followed was nothing short of magic. Within just 15 minutes, he and collaborators Zadok, Stacey, Raven, and Oriah crafted a track that felt as spontaneous as it was divine.
What began as frustration blossomed into a wedding-day celebration in song, complete with lively guitar riffs, pulsing drum patterns, and a sing-along chorus recorded in a house session that pulled everyone into the moment.
“We’ve got all the love we need, we got friends and family, gathered happily,” Una Rams sings a line that perfectly encapsulates the communal joy that birthed the song.
From its opening notes, “I Do” feels like stepping into a wedding ceremony just as anticipation peaks. It’s warm, hopeful, and overflowing with love. The addition of the now-iconic “Wena” hook, introduced by Stacey mid-session, adds a singable, unforgettable spark.
