A heartfelt celebration of love, family, and South African spirit.
Multi-talented storyteller and genre-bender Una Rams unveiled his latest single, “I Do”, a radiant anthem of love, unity, and cultural pride. The track marks the second official release from his highly anticipated upcoming album, Meet Me At The Altar, and it’s already proving to be one of his most joyful and meaningful creations yet.
Interestingly, “I Do” wasn’t part of the plan. During a writing camp in Fourways in August 2024, Una Rams found himself stuck, battling creative blocks while working on another song. What followed was nothing short of magic. Within just 15 minutes, he and collaborators Zadok, Stacey, Raven, and Oriah crafted a track that felt as spontaneous as it was divine.
What began as frustration blossomed into a wedding-day celebration in song, complete with lively guitar riffs, pulsing drum patterns, and a sing-along chorus recorded in a house session that pulled everyone into the moment.
“We’ve got all the love we need, we got friends and family, gathered happily,” Una Rams sings a line that perfectly encapsulates the communal joy that birthed the song.
From its opening notes, “I Do” feels like stepping into a wedding ceremony just as anticipation peaks. It’s warm, hopeful, and overflowing with love. The music is textured with South African sounds, traditions, and languages, grounding the track in heritage while keeping it accessible and universally uplifting.
The addition of the now-iconic “Wena” hook, introduced by Stacey mid-session, adds a singable, unforgettable spark. And to make the moment even more special, J’Something lends his voice to the track, bridging generations of South African talent in a collaboration that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
For Una Rams, “I Do” is about weddings, yes, but also about community, togetherness, and celebrating life’s purest joys.
“This song reminds me of the sun rising on a perfect day,” Una reflects. “It’s that moment when everyone forgets their worries, gets on the dancefloor, and just enjoys being present.”
With “I Do”, Una Rams continues to shape a narrative of love, resilience, and cultural pride. The song is vibrant yet sacred, playful yet deeply meaningful. It’s not only a taste of what’s to come on meet me at the altar, but also proof that Una Rams is cementing himself as one of South Africa’s most compelling musical voices—an artist who can transform fleeting moments into timeless memories.
Keep Up With Una Rams
